Spring Training (2011)

CLIENT: Cincinnati Enquirer
AGENCY:
In-house

I think this might have been the first illustration I did for the Enquirer. I had just transferred over to Online after being the art director of Enquirer Media’s magazine division for two years—as it turns out, print magazines aren’t always sustainable in the 21st century—and as luck would have it, my new desk was right next to Sports. After this went to print and posted online, I would end up drawing quite a bit more for them, which was not the original plan when I moved departments.

The moral of this story is, if someone asks you “Hey, you can draw something quickly, right?” your answer should always be “YEP.”
